Part V. Cherish the peace

Memory of History

Introduction The Nanjing Massacre, just like the Nazi Holocaust, is the darkest part in the history of human civilization and has left eternal scars on the Chinese people. To let people face this part of history and mourn those victims in the massacre, the Nanjing municipal government initiated the memorial museum and monument, so as to find more survivors and discover historical truth for the world. Peace-loving people organized rallies by themselves to show their best wishes and remember history to safeguard peace against war.

On Dec. 13, 2013, the 76th anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre, a memorial ceremony for the 300,000 compatriots killed and a Nanjing International Peace Day rally were held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.
